Starry
Nights, a special evening of science
will be held at the Hattiesburg Zoo on Saturday, February 10th from
6:00 – 8:30 p.m. This event is focused
toward youth ages 5 – 12 and their parents or guardians.
The Hattiesburg Zoo is partnering with USM’s School of Mathematics & Natural Sciences for Starry Nights 2024. Dr. Christopher Sirola, Associate Professor of Astronomy and Physics and Dr. Michael Vera, Associate Professor of Physics will be featured throughout the evening. Dr. Sirola will give Star Talks at 6:15 and 7:15 p.m. and participants will learn how to use telescopes along with learning what they are seeing when they peer through the scope lens.
